Caretaker of Yuki and Bacio
Day 1 Post FHO Surgery

Day 1 Post FHO Surgery

Well we’ve pretty much made it through the first day.  Why don’t we start from getting to the vet to pick him up… Pulling into the parking lot I noticed a woman walking her dog, didn’t think much of it, was mostly thinking about finding a spot to park since they are always busy.  I parked and started getting out of my car and this little fluff ball was right outside my door… I tried to catch it but the…

Bacio is back!

Bacio is back!

Surgery was a success on the road to recovery! Thanks everyone for your thoughts, hopes, well wishes, and prayers! I will write more later, now I just want to hug my boy!

Dropped off for Surgery

Dropped off for Surgery

He had no idea why he got to go in the car without Yuki, but he was kinda digging it. When we pulled up to the vet he even did his excited whine because he was getting to go somewhere. Just so he didn’t hate me, I walked him around this grassy area in front of the clinic. Once our name was called, we headed back to talk to the doctor about the FHO surgery itself and Bacio’s current condition….

Dog UTI and A day left for the FHO

Dog UTI and A day left for the FHO

Well one full day left until I drop by pup off for surgery.  I am no longer as worried about the actual surgery as I am about the recovery.  I have found some resources online and gotten some advice from Dogster.com‘s forum.  I mean I’ll still be a wreck all day on Friday, but things are starting to come together.  Some things I’ve read suggest that the stairs are going to be a problem for a couple months… That would…

Too big for a Cage

Too big for a Cage

Well, it is official. Bacio is too big for his crate. I finally got him in there and he can barely stand up inside there. You know, Bacio has always seemed tiny to me, it’s things like this that put his size into perspective. Off to find something that can contain this beast. Heh.

One week

One week

Well in one week from now Bacio will (hopefully by this time of day) be out of surgery.  I’m so nervous, but so happy for the little guy.  It will be rough at first but in the end I am sure this is the right thing to do.   He’s still afraid of his crate, if anyone has any suggestions on how to make that a more fun place for him to be let me know.  I’ve tried leading him…

Bacio Before his First FHO

Bacio Before his First FHO

Hello all, hope everyone is well.  I haven’t made a substantial post in a while because I’ve been busy working on it.  Odd little side note before I get into things, I took Bacio’s old crate out to get him used to it again…. He’s terrified of it.  Now he’s terrified of everything so that wasn’t so weird, the strange part was, Yuki, who has broken her teeth trying to get out of cages and crates, seems to have taken…

Dog Farts vs Human Farts

Dog Farts vs Human Farts

C’mon anyone that owns dogs has had to deal with these.  Anyone who’s been around dogs has probably been unpleasantly surprised by a bout of dog fart at some point.  Dog Fart is no laughing matter.  They are some serious room clearing weapons.  If they found a way to condense them and bottle them,  I’m pretty sure they’d be more effective than mace and tear gas. Now human farts on the other hand,  they can be really bad and room…

The New Year Plans…

The New Year Plans…

First, lets start with a big Happy New Year to everyone out there.  Hope this year is even better than the last.  Maybe a year without predicted apocalypses will make people more calm.  2013 will bring some changes for my dogs and I.  The last two posts about Bacio’s hips (Background story here, and X-ray and surgery consult here) have led me to make the decision to have his first FHO procedure done.  I called the vet yesterday and have…
