{"id":377,"date":"2013-03-30T17:22:53","date_gmt":"2013-03-30T22:22:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/?p=377"},"modified":"2013-03-30T18:23:35","modified_gmt":"2013-03-30T23:23:35","slug":"giving-a-siberian-husky-a-bath","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/giving-a-siberian-husky-a-bath\/","title":{"rendered":"Giving a Siberian husky a bath"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and Sam and the dogs were out at the park. \u00a0It was a beautiful day, but unfortunately the grass hasn&#8217;t had a chance to grow yet, so thawing bits of the park came home with us after our walk. \u00a0Where there wasn&#8217;t mud, there was dry dirt. \u00a0Yuki has been in need of a bath for some time now, but this was just the icing on the cake.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 514px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" \" title=\"Dirty Dog\" src=\"https:\/\/sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ash3\/46665_10100770707717679_836127832_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"504\" height=\"672\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Look Ma, I sat in dirt!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Today was supposed to be close to the 60&#8217;s and I couldn&#8217;t find enough people for a pick up game, so I thought it&#8217;d be a good chance to wash her and let her air dry. As soon as I started putting water in the tub she became skeptical. \u00a0She went and hid in the bedroom. \u00a0I had to carry her into the bathroom and plop her in the tub. \u00a0I have a method to bathing her. \u00a0I gotta get her wet first, so I fill the tub enough to cover her paws. \u00a0I don&#8217;t want to totally freak her out since she hates water. \u00a0I start cupping the water onto her and once she&#8217;s calmed down a little I go ahead with freaking her out and turn the shower on her. \u00a0Voil\u00e0! Wet dog!<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 622px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Do Not Want.\" src=\"http:\/\/distilleryimage6.s3.amazonaws.com\/180c47bc998711e2a86422000a1f9839_7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"612\" height=\"612\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">I really hate you today. I am going to pee right outside the door of your room when you&#8217;re not home, so that when you walk into your room you step in it.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I bought an\u00a0anti fungal\u00a0shampoo the other day because I noticed a sour-ish smell on her elbows. \u00a0I tend to be paranoid about everything when it comes to them, but I&#8217;d rather be safe than sorry. \u00a0Plus it is lavender scented and that&#8217;s nice. \u00a0 I sudded her up, couldn&#8217;t take a picture because this is when the girl on girl wrestling match begins in the tub. \u00a0Yuki vs Sam. \u00a0It got all slippery, she ends up clawing my feet up unintentionally trying to get away from me. \u00a0I get soaked, and she never gives up. \u00a0Somehow though, through the madness, she gets clean. \u00a0The bath water is so gross and dirty, even after I&#8217;ve emptied it out and refilled to paw level at least 3 times. \u00a0She always looks so white and pretty, but man, that husky fur holds a lot of dirt. \u00a0I am also\u00a0thoroughly\u00a0amuse at what a stick Yuki really is when her fur is all wet.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_375\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/giving-a-siberian-husky-a-bath\/wpid-20130330_163243_1-jpg\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-375\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-375\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-375\" title=\"Wet Dog\" src=\"https:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/wpid-20130330_163243_1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/wpid-20130330_163243_1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/wpid-20130330_163243_1.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-375\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Yuki is almost as skinny as Bacio when she&#8217;s soaked.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After toweling her off and letting her shake a few times, she&#8217;s released from the prison that goes by the name of Bathroom. \u00a0Every time she gets a bath, as soon as she&#8217;s let out of the bathroom, she darts around like a mad dog. \u00a0Then finds a place to lay down and lick her fur.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/wpid-20130330_163657_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Post Bathtime\" src=\"https:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/wpid-20130330_163657_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Am I crazy or did that bath just turn her back into a puppy?<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Bath time is over for a while. \u00a0She&#8217;s just got to dry off and we&#8217;ll go for another walk. \u00a0Hopefully she won&#8217;t get too dirty. \u00a0At least she smells better now. \u00a0I think she&#8217;s really cute when she&#8217;s wet. She was staring out the window earlier and she just has a more wild look to her when she&#8217;s all wet.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Drying off\" src=\"http:\/\/distilleryimage10.s3.amazonaws.com\/d00ed82e998d11e2979f22000a1f8ae3_7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"490\" height=\"490\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">She&#8217;s still wet, but look how nice and clean she is.
