{"id":311,"date":"2013-02-06T15:44:55","date_gmt":"2013-02-06T21:44:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/?p=311"},"modified":"2022-03-16T21:49:31","modified_gmt":"2022-03-17T02:49:31","slug":"attempting-stairs-after-fho-surgery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/attempting-stairs-after-fho-surgery\/","title":{"rendered":"Attempting Stairs after FHO Surgery"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We&#8217;ve spent our first night at my apartment in Chicago since Bacio&#8217;s FHO surgery. \u00a0I moved my bed to the ground so that Bacio can sleep on the bed. \u00a0This morning I woke up to get ready for work, but first time to take Bacio out. \u00a0I was nervous for the first trip down\u00a0hardwood\u00a0stairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fail.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He fell. When he did, his leg looked disgusting, almost at a 90-degree angle. Soooo I carried that 65lb boy the rest of the way down the stairs. \u00a0My daily workouts will now consist of carrying Bacio up and down the stairs. \u00a0I felt so bad for him&#8230; But he didn&#8217;t seem phased once we were outside. \u00a0He limped a little outside, but was still putting the leg down&#8230; Hopefully it&#8217;s all good&#8230; I&#8217;m still pretty worried though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Finding Stair Solutions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After work, I went to Home Depot to find a stair solution. \u00a0When approached buy one of their helpful people in orange, I explained that I needed some sort of grip my stairs, but it had to be temporary, and nothing that involved a staple gun. \u00a0He suggested sandpaper tape. \u00a0I veto&#8217;d, I skateboarded most my teenage years and grip tape tore up my shoes. I can&#8217;t imagine what it would do to dog paws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said I could glue down carpet patches, but as a renter I asked if there was a temporary tape instead. I needed something removal and that wouldn&#8217;t damage wood. \u00a0He got a weird look on his face and proceeded toward the carpeting section. He had a brilliant idea! \u00a0Take the non-slip rug grip pads, cut it to size, and put it on the stairs. \u00a0<strong>YES!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.homedepot-static.com\/productImages\/bea9603e-b56e-4bc2-aff8-de91251e502b\/svn\/nuloom-rug-pads-japd1a-76098-64_1000.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\"\/><figcaption>Rug pads from homedepot.com<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ll need to clean the stairs first, and then I&#8217;ll get to Bacio-fying them. \u00a0In fact&#8230; I need to clean my entire apartment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> I walked in after being gone for 2.5 weeks and I was like Ewww gross&#8230; how do I live here?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On that note&#8230; I&#8217;m off to clean!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve spent our first night at my apartment in Chicago since Bacio&#8217;s FHO surgery. \u00a0I moved my bed to the ground so that Bacio can sleep on the bed. \u00a0This morning I woke up to get ready for work, but first time to take Bacio out. \u00a0I was nervous for the first trip down\u00a0hardwood\u00a0stairs.
