{"id":269,"date":"2013-01-16T19:37:32","date_gmt":"2013-01-17T01:37:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/?p=269"},"modified":"2022-03-16T13:04:02","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T18:04:02","slug":"dog-uti-and-a-day-left-for-the-fho","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.my2whitedogs.com\/blog\/dog-uti-and-a-day-left-for-the-fho\/","title":{"rendered":"Dog UTI and The Day Before FHO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One full day left until I drop my pup off for surgery. \u00a0I am no longer as worried about the actual surgery as I am about the recovery. \u00a0I have found some resources online and gotten some advice from<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dogster.com\"> Dogster.com<\/a>&#8216;s forum. \u00a0I mean, I&#8217;ll still be a wreck all day on Friday, but things are starting to come together. \u00a0Some things I&#8217;ve read suggest that the stairs are going to be a problem for a couple months&#8230; That will be a problem.<\/p>\n<p>To prep Bacio for surgery, I read that he needs to be on a high protein diet before and after the surgery. \u00a0Yesterday the dogs got tilapia and fresh spinach&#8230; Today I bought some stew meat and I have it simmering on the stove for them.<\/p>\n<h2>Yuki Wants the Attention Back<\/h2>\n<p>Unfortunately, I think Yuki has missed being in the spotlight with all the news on Bacio lately. \u00a0The other night she was sleeping soundly, but when she got up there was a bit of a wet spot.\u00a0 Sometimes when she sleeps, she curls into a tight husky ball with her nose tucked under her tail.\u00a0 When she wakes up condensation from her nose leaves dampness, but this spot was much too wet.\u00a0 I called the vet and was told to drop off a urine sample to check if she has a UTI.<\/p>\n<p>I woke up this morning to take Yuki out and awkwardly collect her sample. I usually I see maaaybe one other person on the walk&#8230; Today, the day that I have to get a container under my dog and catch her pee&#8230; There were four people right outside. Fun.\u00a0 I still managed to catch her wee and close the container without getting any wee on myself. Win!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll get her results tomorrow and an antibiotic if needed. \u00a0I also asked the receptionist if there was a note on my file renaming me the crazy lady that calls too much. \u00a0She laughed at me, and told me it was better to be safe rather than sorry&#8230; But, that wasn&#8217;t a &#8220;No&#8221;, so I&#8217;m still pretty sure its on there.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m going to take Bacio and Yuki to a park tomorrow. We&#8217;ll chill out, possibly quite literally since it&#8217;s January, and spend some quality time with Pre-Surgery Bacio..
